Owning a Home Here: Good to Know
Older Homes, Lots of Character
The area has a wide range of home styles and ages. A thorough home inspection is always a good idea.
Heating Matters
Gas, oil, electric or heat pump: the heating system makes a real difference in winter costs, so ask about it early.
Sewer or Septic
Some homes use a private septic system rather than town sewer, which requires a Title 5 inspection at sale.
Four Real Seasons
Driveway length, roof condition and a well-insulated attic all matter more when the snow starts to fly.
